Logan, Utah – September
20, 2004 –
Perbio
Science, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fisher Scientific International
Inc. (NYSE: FSH),
announces the latest innovation in HyClone®
BioProcess Container Systems, the new Smartainer stainless
steel bins. These supportive bins, together with a HyQtainer®
single-use flexible container, provide a system to easily handle large
volumes of sterile fluids. The Smartainer system is available in 500,
1000, and 1500 L sizes and is designed to accommodate pallet jack and
fork-lift transport. The bins are stackable to save valuable floor space.
The HyQtainer 3-D
rectangular flexible container is manufactured of HyClone’s proprietary
HyQ® CX5-14 film. The film demonstrates
outstanding tensile properties, low gas permeability, a low profile of
leachable compounds, and an animal derived component free (ADCF)
product contact surface. The bottom drain feature allows for 100% fluid
recovery. Top and bottom ports when connected to a pump provide recirculation
of fluids within the container. Tubing sets and end connectors can be
customized.
