Revolutionary New HyNetics Module
for Hydration of Powdered Media and
Reagents Begins Operation at HyClone

Logan, Utah (November 26, 2002) -
HyClone today announced the first production runs utilizing their new, validated HyNetics module for hydration of powdered media and buffers. The state-of-the-art HyNetics module employs single-use, disposable product contact surfaces for automated hydration and mixing of powders, and dispensing and packaging of the resultant liquid. The HyNetics module has been employed to hydrate a reagent lot for off-the-shelf sales and a special order batch of serum-containing media.

The HyNetics module at HyClone in Logan, Utah is intended as a demonstration unit as well as a production unit for HyClone media, buffers, and reagents. HyNetics modules are available for purchase and installation at biopharmaceutical production plants and research institutions needing a safe and dependable method of hydrating powdered media and reagents. The advantages of utilizing disposable contact surface manufacturing in the HyNetics modules include elimination of clean-in-place, steam-in-place (CIP/SIP) and validation procedures, which saves costs and turn-around time. The closed system and disposable contact surfaces also prevent the possibility of cross-contaminating production lots.
