Thermo Fisher Scientific Launches Versatile Media for the PER.C6 Cell Line

Logan, Utah – July 20, 2007–

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has developed a new medium for the culture of the PER.C6® (Crucell NV-The Netherlands) cell line.

Thermo Scientific HyClone CDM4PERMAb™ is a chemically-defined medium containing no animal derived components. This high performance cell culture medium has been developed to increase process yields in the production of human antibodies and recombinant proteins using PER.C6 technology. It has been successfully tested in a variety of applications, including fed-batch bioreactors.

The HyClone product line includes Serum-Free Media and these Process Supplements for the biopharmaceutical and research markets designed for many key cell lines, including: Chinese hamster ovary (CHO), hybridomas and myelomas, HEK 293, PER.C6, insect and kidney epithelial cells (e.g., Vero, MDCK).
