With the increasing popularity of baculovirus expression vector systems (BEVS), more researchers are culturing insect cells. Our highest quality Defined FBS is screened to identify lots that offer optimal performance with BEVS. This screening involves comparing cell yield and viability using insect cells grown in various test lots for four passages. These test lots are compared to a control lot that has demonstrated the ability to support robust growth of insect cells. Further heat inactivation or irradiation processing can be done upon request.
