Donor Equine serum is carefully collected from selected US donor herds
that receive regular veterinary inspection and care. The animals are fed
an enriched diet to ensure proper nutrition and are fasted prior to bleeding
to reduce lipid concentration. The horses are bled in an enclosed facility
that is specially equipped for aseptic collection. Coggins tests for equine
infectious anemia are routinely performed on each horse. Donor Equine
Serum is sterile filtered using three sequential 100nm (0.1µm) pore-size
rated filters.
