Single-Use Bioreactor (S.U.B.)

Reference Guide

The HyClone S.U.B. provides all the advantages of single-use bioprocessing without having to buy a complete new bioreactor system.

It is intended as a retrofit product to replace the stainless steel bioreactor vessel in existing bioreactor systems rather than as a complete turn-key bioreactor system. This makes it a flexible, rapid and economic option to update or increase your bioreactor capacity.

Conventional Stirred Tank Design with Single-Use Contact Parts

S.U.B. BPC

1 - Exhaust Vent Filter
Single-use capsule filter for exhaust gas exchange

2 - Gas Overlay Port
Protected by gas filter

3 - Ports
For addition of media and other liquids

4 - Seal/Bearing Assembly
Links with mixer motor and allows impeller to turn while retaining integrity of the S.U.B. BPC

5 - Impeller
Molded polyethylene linked to seal/bearing assembly by C-Flex tubing which forms the contact material for the shaft

6 - Ports with Kleenpak Connectors
For integration of standard 1/2" monitoring pH and DO probes

7 - Temperature RTD Port
For integration of temperature probe while retaining integrity of the S.U.B. BPC

8 - Sampling Port
For needleless sampling or connection for sampling manifold

9 - Drain Port
Used when draining the S.U.B.

10 - Gas Sparge
Permeable disc integrated into the chamber. Protected by check valve and gas filter
