Conventional
bag technology does not allow for optimal mixing of cell culture
media, process liquids, buffers, reagents and bulk product. The
HyClone Mixtainer System replaces conventional mixing in open tank
liners or in BioProcess Containers™ (BPC®s)
using a recirculation loop or shaking/rocking platforms. It is capable
of holding, storing, stirring and suspending sterile fluids. The
Mixtainer System encompasses a disposable Mixtainer BPC that has
an integrated stir-bar dish, a supporting conical drum, the Maxi
Stirrer magnetic stirring plate, and a dolly that aligns the components
and provides mobility.

Mixtainer
BioProcess Container |
| The
Mixtainer BPC contains a magnetic stir-bar located in a plastic
dish welded in the bottom of the BPC. The dish contains a locking
ring to ensure the containment of the stir-bar during shipping,
handling, and operation. BPCs are available with or without
a powder addition port. |

Conical
Drum |
| The
Mixtainer system utilizes a polyethylene drum with a special
enlarged opening at the bottom to accommodate the stir-bar dish. |

Maxi
Stirrer |
| The
Mixtainer and drum must integrate with the Maxi Stirrer magnetic
stirring plate. |

Dolly |
| The
dolly is designed to interface between the drum and the Maxi
Stirrer to create the vertical and concentric alignment necessary
for operation. |
